چکیده
Bauxite residue (BR) is an industrial by-product generated during the production of alumina from bauxite ores in Bayer process. BR environmentally hostile due to it high alkalinity and fine particle size distribution. In this work, blended with NaOH subsequently reduced hydrogen, order develop intermediate material rich magnetite sodium aluminate, by doing so, enable recovery iron, aluminium as well sodium. Several process parameters, such dosage, reduction temperature soaking time, on qualities final material, were assessed. The highest conversion degree hematite was 96 % occurred for 20 wt% addition BR, 5 vol% H2, 120 min at 500 °C. aluminum oxides transformed into water-soluble aluminate phases, a range other interesting metals enriched resulting residue. work herein demonstrates potential suggested near zero-waste BR.

متن کاملVanadium removal and recovery from bauxite residue leachates by ion exchange
Bauxite residue is an important by-product of the alumina industry, and current management practices do not allow their full valorisation, especially with regard to the recovery of critical metals. This work aims to test the efficiency of ion exchange resins for vanadium (V) removal and recovery from bauxite residue leachates at alkaline pH (11.5 and 13). As an environmental pollutant, removal ...
متن کاملA Mineralogical Assessment on Residues after Acidic Leaching of Bauxite Residue (Red Mud) for Titanium Recovery
Due to its alkalinity, red mud produced by the Bayer process may affect both the environment and human health. For this reason, its further utilization instead of disposal is of great importance. Numerous methods have already been studied for hydrometallurgical treatment of red mud, especially for the recovery of various metallic components such as iron, aluminum, titanium or rare earth element...
متن کاملBauxite-supported Transition Metal Oxides: Promising Low-temperature and SO2-tolerant Catalysts for Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx
In order to develop low-temperature (below 200 °C) and SO2-tolerant catalysts for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx, a series of cheap M/bauxite (M = Mn, Ni and Cu) catalysts were prepared using bauxite as a support. Their SCR performances are much superior to typical V2O5/TiO2, the addition of M into bauxite results in significant promotion of NOx removal efficiency, especially at low...
متن کاملPredictive hydrogeochemical modelling of bauxite residue sand in field conditions.
The suitability of residue sand (the coarse fraction remaining from Bayer's process of bauxite refining) for constructing the surface cover of closed bauxite residue storage areas was investigated. Specifically, its properties as a medium for plant growth are of interest to ensure residue sand can support a sustainable ecosystem following site closure. The geochemical evolution of the residue s...
